Hey everyone, been a while since I’ve done anything here. 10 weeks to be precise.
I was away on
holiday in October and while away I was thinking about how the studio
could grow and what kind of content should be produced here.
I’ve decided to stop sticking to a schedule. Two videos a week was taking time away from other projects I wanted to get started. So as of February I will be uploading One video a week (Possibly a Friday) so that I can put time into other projects to share with you all. One of these projects is a podcast I have been doing lately with my good friend Cameron. This podcast will also be partially animated and both the podcast and animation will be uploaded to the YouTube channel. This will be sometime in the middle of 2019.
I have also recently been putting time into the Photography and Videography side of the studio. More information on this will be shared shortly.
And I’m working on a secret project that I’m very excited about. But I’m not giving anything away about this for another 6 months or so.
So although the website hasn’t been updated and there haven’t been any videos on YouTube lately, there are still a lot of things happening behind the scenes.
For now, I’m going to continue the work behind the scenes and enjoy the rest of December and Christmas. Got a lot of Christmas movies to make my way through.
I hope you all have a great Christmas and enjoy bringing in 2019.
See you all soon.
Hey everyone, I hope you’ve all had a great week.
Today isn’t Thursday, it’s Friday. I’ll get to that in a moment. Firstly, I was joined in my studio this week by CarolineMarie, to work on and record a cover of ‘More Than Words’ By Extreme. (See below for the video)
Had fun recording and editing this, however it did take more time than anticipated. Which brings me to the second half of this post.
Thursdays video uploads are now being moved to Fridays. This is so that I have an extra day to work on any last minute recordings or lengthy editing work. Todays video definitely would not have been ready for yesterdays usual upload.
Also, some of you may know (if you followed this site from it’s conception) I had a previous YouTube channel where I uploaded Guitar lessons and various other music related videos. I spent a little while earlier in the week looking through the analytic data of that channel and came to the conclusion Music videos (like the one below) just aren’t where the views are. People seem to want to be taught something rather than watch someone they don’t know play a piece they could hear anyone play at anytime. So, I’ve decided to re-master some of my previous channels Guitar Lessons and re-upload them to the Short Lane Studios channel. I’ll make them better quality, both audio and visually. And hopefully those videos will start to attract more people and help my audience grow.
I will however still be doing Music covers and original music. But once a month rather than weekly. This also takes a lot of stress out of the job.
I think that’s all I had on my mind.
Just for clarity,
Tuesdays are Demo Videos
Fridays are Lesson Videos with the occasional Music Video.
I’m still quite active on Twitter and Instagram, so pop on over to check those out, as well as the Studios Facebook Page.
I’ll stop boring you now.
I hope you all have a pleasant weekend.
Hey everyone. Adam (the other half of Short Lane) has set up his own YouTube channel ‘Everyday Reboot’ for movie reviews, tech news, gaming and podcasts.
Below is his first movie review and first video on the channel. The video hit 120+ views in 12 hours, which is pretty awesome for a new channel. Take a look and see what you think. Make sure to hit the ‘Like’ and ‘Subscribe’ buttons and expect more videos from Adam very soon.
I figured I’d do a review with some news and project updates at the end of each month. 9 days late with this one but never mind.
First of all, I’d like to thank everyone who’s subscribed to the site. I really appreciate you taking the time to do so. I am thinking of ways to reward subscribers, maybe a competition or something. Possibly picking a subscriber at random to receive a gift maybe. If you have any ideas please comment below 🙂
In case you missed it
In January we did Two interviews for our current project in which we interview creative people, we find out a bit about each person and what they’re working on. So far we’ve interviewed Cameron Liam Isaacs, an abstract Artist. And Kenneth C. Birch, an Actor. Their interviews can be found by clicking on the ‘Menu’ button on the top right corner and selecting ‘Interviews’.
Whats happening lately
Short Lane Studios was never intended to be just a Music studio, we want it to be a studio that also makes videos on serious issues that concern the whole planet and its people. Such as Environmental Issues, Alternative energies, and political affairs. As well as Charity drives and entertainment.
- We are currently working on a Political mini-documentary. The script has been written and recorded. And the editing process has begun, with some subtitles and images being done so far. The video will be around 12 minutes long and we’re aiming to have it finished in Two weeks or sooner.
- We’re also looking for more creative people to interview, we have a few in mind, it’s just a case of asking and arranging schedules. We will try to have the next interview done this month.
- We have also decided to try an animated series. This is very early stages and wont be out for several months, if it turns out good that is.
Thank you again for subscribing and taking time out of your day to read this.
Have a great week.
