The State of Affairs

We seem to be at a crossroads, in society and in life. We each have a lot of thoughts about how better we can be a united, democratic community of people and evolve to the next level. The environment, technology, the political process all seem a bit out of date now, we are all hungry for change. It’s a conversation TJ and I have been having on and off since our University days, god that seems so long ago now. But when TJ suggested that I should put my observations on paper in order to make a video, I was all for it.

You see, I have had first hand experience with the sweeping under the carpet tactics that are currently being deployed, having family members who are disabled. And let me tell you these last 10 years have been no picnic. It’s most difficult to see our leaders play with lives, to pass them around like pieces on a board game like they don’t matter. Because they do, we all do.

We had grand ideas to film and use visuals for the video, but I think that the words and music speak for themselves. If you agree or disagree with this film, I would hope that the message is loud and clear. That there are a plethora of different ways, some better, to run this country. And hopefully we can live in a time where the vulnerable in society are looked after, the environment is taken better care of, and that we live in peace striving for a better world together, for all of us.

January Review

I figured I’d do a review with some news and project updates at the end of each month. 9 days late with this one but never mind.

First of all, I’d like to thank everyone who’s subscribed to the site. I really appreciate you taking the time to do so. I am thinking of ways to reward subscribers, maybe a competition or something. Possibly picking a subscriber at random to receive a gift maybe. If you have any ideas please comment below 🙂

In case you missed it

In January we did Two interviews for our current project in which we interview creative people, we find out a bit about each person and what they’re working on. So far we’ve interviewed Cameron Liam Isaacs, an abstract Artist. And Kenneth C. Birch, an Actor. Their interviews can be found by clicking on the ‘Menu’ button on the top right corner and selecting ‘Interviews’.

Whats happening lately

Short Lane Studios was never intended to be just a Music studio, we want it to be a studio that also makes videos on serious issues that concern the whole planet and its people. Such as Environmental Issues, Alternative energies, and political affairs. As well as Charity drives and entertainment.

  1. We are currently working on a Political mini-documentary. The script has been written and recorded. And the editing process has begun, with some subtitles and images being done so far. The video will be around 12 minutes long and we’re aiming to have it finished in Two weeks or sooner.
  2. We’re also looking for more creative people to interview, we have a few in mind, it’s just a case of asking and arranging schedules. We will try to have the next interview done this month.
  3. We have also decided to try an animated series. This is very early stages and wont be out for several months, if it turns out good that is.

Thank you again for subscribing and taking time out of your day to read this.
Have a great week.
